With several high quality programs in the state, Michigan has produced some of the game’s very best players, and continues to provide different leagues with high caliber players. At Made In Michigan Hockey, our staff of success coaches come from a diverse playing background who have all achieved success ranging from State Championships, NCAA D1 Scholarships, & NHL Draft Picks. Our friendly staff aims to provide the next generation with the skills they need to reach whatever individual goal a player may have.

Meet Your Coaches

Kurt Gosselin

Kurt is a native of Brighton, Michigan with a passion for hockey deeply ingrained in his roots. Kurt's journey in the sport began at the Kensington Valley Ice House and through years of hard work, Kurt earned a chance to play in the BCHL with the Port Alberni Valley Bulldogs, where his talent shone bright. He then transitioned to the NCAA D1 level, playing at the University of Alabama-Huntsville for 4 years. In his professional playing career, Kurt has left his mark with teams throughout North America that include the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL), Rochester Americans (AHL), Toledo Walleye (ECHL), Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL), Reading Royals (ECHL), Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL), Adirondack Thunder (ECHL), and the Utica Comets (AHL).

Beyond his playing achievements, Kurt's true goal is to give back to the Michigan hockey community. With his dedication and years of playing experience at the highest levels, Kurt’s mission is to uplift the community by enhancing player’s skills on the ice.

dAVID kEEFER

David is yet another successful product of Brighton, Michigan. He spent his youth playing for local teams in Brighton, before advancing to programs such as Compuware, Little Caesar's, & Honey Baked. After a strong 3-year junior career playing in the USHL, David earned his spot at Michigan State University (NCAA - D1) and later finished out his college career at Northern Michigan University (NCAA - D1). After his collegiate career, David played one year of professional hockey in North America with the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL) before moving on to play in Europe with the Pioneers Vorarlberg (ICEHL) in Feldkirch, Austria and HKM Zvolen in Slovakia.

Humble both on and off the ice, David looks to bring his talent and experience to help develop the next generation of hockey players in Michigan.

JAY KERANEN

As a Brighton native, Jay grew up playing hockey locally before joining the varsity hockey team at Brighton High School. Jay then began his Junior Career in the NAHL playing for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs and the Topeka Roadrunners. Following his time in the NAHL, Jay played 2 years for the Prince George Spruce Kings in the BCHL, where he helped his team battle their way to a championship in 2019. This accomplishment led Jay to receiving an opportunity to play NCAA D1 hockey at the University of Michigan where he had a successful collegiate hockey career. Jay then went on to begin his professional hockey career in 2023 with the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL) where he continues to play today.

Beyond his incredible journey and playing resume, Jay’s personal objective is to develop the next generation of hockey players and help them reach the next level in their careers.
