Kurt Gosselin | CEO
Kurt Gosselin is a native of Brighton, Michigan with a passion for hockey deeply ingrained in his roots. Kurt's journey in the sport began at the Kensington Valley Ice House and through years of hard work, Kurt earned a chance to play in the BCHL with the Port Alberni Valley Bulldogs, where his talent shone bright. He then transitioned to the NCAA D1 level, playing at the University of Alabama-Huntsville for 4 years, where he majored in Business Communication while excelling on the ice.
In his professional playing career, Kurt has left his mark with teams throughout North America that include the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL), Rochester Americans (AHL), Toledo Walleye (ECHL), Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL), Reading Royals (ECHL), Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL), and the Adirondack Thunder (ECHL).
Beyond his playing achievements, Kurt's true goal is to give back to the Michigan hockey community, by inspiring and mentoring the next generation of athletes. With his dedication and years of playing experience at the highest levels, Kurt’s mission is to uplift the community by enhancing player’s skills on the ice, and developing ethical young men off the ice.
Jay Keranen | Director of Player Development
A Brighton native, and BHS Varsity Hockey Alumni, Jay Keranen joined Made In Michigan Hockey’s Leadership Team in the spring of 2023 during his Senior year at the University of Michigan, where he played NCAA D1 Hockey from 2019-2023. Jay’s playing resume is one of hard work, perseverance, and capitalizing on opportunity.
Following a successful High School playing career, Jay began his Junior Career in the NAHL playing for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs and the Topeka Roadrunners. He then played 2 years for the Prince George Spruce Kings in the BCHL, helping his team to a championship in 2019. This led him to achieve an opportunity to play NCAA D1 hockey at the University of Michigan, where he honed in on his defensive skills, and majored in Sports Management. After his collegiate career, Jay spent his first season playing professional Hockey with the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL).
Beyond his incredible journey and playing resume, Jay’s personal objective is to be a mentor for players who are looking to play hockey at the Junior, Collegiate, and Professional levels. His years of experience along with his “untraditional" path through high school hockey make him an invaluable asset to both players and parents looking to navigate the waters of hockey.
David Keefer | Director of Sales
David is a Brighton, Michigan native and spent his youth playing for local teams, before advancing to well known AAA programs such as Compuware, Little Caesar's, & Honey Baked. After a strong 3-year junior career playing in the USHL playing for the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Des Moines Buccaneers, David earned his spot at Michigan State University (NCAA - D1) and later finished out his college career at Northern Michigan University (NCAA - D1). After his collegiate career, David played one year of professional hockey in North America with the Kalamazoo Wings (ECHL) before moving on to play in Europe with the Pioneers Vorarlberg (ICEHL) in Feldkirch, Austria and HKM Zvolen in Slovakia.
Humble both on and off the ice, David looks to bring his talent and experience to help develop the next generation of hockey players in Michigan.
